Northern France covers two regions - Northern France or "Nord Pas-de-Calais" and Picardy. Nord Pas-de-Calais lies just over the Channel from England and a hop over the border to Belgium. Picardy is less than 1 hour from Calais - that makes this region a very easy family holiday destination.
The northern France region offers sun, sport, French food, French culture and beaches. There are also many excellent fishing opportunities in the north of France, not to mention plenty of golf courses if you get the chance. For the children there is the theme park Dennlys Park at Dennebroeucq and the region's most visited attraction is the marine world Nausicaa at Boulogne. Other popular destinations are Aqualud at Le Touquet in Northern France just 45 mins from Calais, with both indoor and outdoor water slides, chutes and pools, and Bagatelle theme amusement park at Berck plage.
