For me it would always be somewhere close to Cheltenham racecourse! The Cotswolds in Gloucestershire is a stunning region with loads of quaint villages and country pubs to visit. Hay-on-Wye, with its book shops, literary festival and lively shopping scene is a popular holiday destination as is Ross on Wye both sitting on he best stretch of canoeing river in Britain. Fiercely contested with the Welsh over centuries, Herefordshire is riddled with historic castles and sturdy farmsteads, and the culture is rich.
