Lakeside, Crediton (Ref. 16585): Beautiful location stunning scenery loved the cottage owners were more than welcoming but never over bearing inside the accommodation was immaculate probably the best we have ever stayed in. My wife fell in love with the horses will definitely be going back. Many thanks to Dave and Jovan
Kestrel Lodge, near Dulverton (Ref. 8528): Extremely kind and helpfull hosts who provide us with a very well appointed flat that was in first class order. We enjoyed the cream tea after a very long journey.The house and flats are set in their own well kept grounds which are being re-vamped after disease in the trees. Excellent amenities nearby in Dulverton and the surrounding Exmoor. As over 70's the stairs were a challenge especially when wet.
Lake View, Zeal Monachorum near Crediton (Ref. 16299): We loved the grounds of the holiday home - the stables and ponies, the fields with sheep, the ability to take a nice long walk through the countryside. We loved being situated so that we could go to both Exmoor park and Dartmoor park. But we most like the owner and their family. They were accommodating, helpful, and treated us as very special guests.
Old Chapel, Clovelly (Ref. 919297): An excellent spacious property for the 4 adults in our party. The cottage is ideally based for exploring North Devon with spacious grounds and lovely views of the countryside & sea. The cottage was clean and welcoming with lots of nice comfy sofas to relax on at the end of a tiring day sightseeing, and with a well equipped kitchen should you wish to self cater. A highly recommended property.
Fig Tree Cottage, Bickleigh near Tiverton (Ref. 904128): We thought Fig Tree Cottage was delightful; a perfect place for a family holiday! Our grandchildren loved the garden with plenty of space to run around in and play hide and seek! It was close enough to visit the many attractions in the area.
Stables Cottage, Bow near Crediton (Ref. 911946): This is the second jaunt to Bow to stay in this cottage, I and my travelling pal adore the place. We like to be self sufficient and this suits our needs perfectly. The owner is a very nice lady and although we do not always see each other I know she is at hand if I need her. You always feel safe as the cottage is situated right in the middle of the farm next to the farm house. I cannot fault it, it is a real gem and would recommend it to all my friends and family. The cottage has a great kitchen with all mod cons, a lovely shower upstairs, comfy beds, satellite TV and a wood burning fire - basically home from home - in fact its better! Looking to come down in May again with my Mum.
Lundy View Cottage, Great Torrington near Bideford (Ref. 11793): We had 9 enjoyable days here. The cottage was modern inside and outstandingly clean. We have been self-catering for over 20 years and this has to be one of the best, if not the best, we have stayed in. The location is good for visiting all of North Devon (Ilfracombe, Lynton, Lynmouth and Exmoor).
Elm Cottage, Westleigh near Bideford (Ref. 3792): Had a lovely wood burner and sea views from the bedrooms. Accessibility to everywhere was good and there was also a super local bus service half a mile away.
Beech Cottage, Dunkeswell (Ref. 3002): This is the best cottage we have stayed in. It is very well equipped, comfortable, very clean and peaceful. The owners are really helpful and can't do enough for you. There is nothing to fault in this cottage, a little gem in the wonderful Devon countryside, ideally situated between Honiton and Taunton.
Elworthy Lodge, Bishops Nympton near South Molton (Ref. 906446): This was our second visit to Elworthy Lodge and we enjoyed another good week. The Lodge has an excellent outlook and although it is situated on a working farm, you hardly notice the noise. The owners are most accommodating and nothing is too much trouble for them. We would definitely recommend Elworthy Lodge if you are looking for a quiet and peaceful holiday.
Owl Barn, Whitchurch near Tavistock (Ref. 23660): Very comfortable cottage with superb views. Friendly and helpful but not intrusive hosts. Very quiet and slept well!
Tuckermarsh Quay River Cottage 2, Bere Alston near Tavistock (Ref. 16511): The cottage is in a beautiful situation with a brilliant outlook from the all the windows. Had beautiful gardens and enjoyed having meals by the river. A very peaceful and tranquil holiday, brilliant! Thank you.
Waterbridge Lodge, Copplestone near Crediton (Ref. 14389): This was the most clean and tidy cottage we have stayed in. The owners were at the end of the telephone and very helpful even down to recommending local pubs. The property was well off the road with large grounds which we were invited to use. This is one property we would be happy to return to.
Lodge 48, Woolsery near Clovelly (Ref. 4325) : I liked the fact that the lodge is situated in a very rural area and I enjoyed the peace and quiet. The lodge was spacious, well equipped and clean. l thoroughly enjoyed my stay.
Broad Ash Lodge, Bradninch (Ref. 921832): The house is just lovely; spacious and cosy with amazing views. The owners are next door and ready to help, a lovely family. Would definitely recommend the lodge and we are already making plans to return next year.
White Tor Lodge, Peter Tavy near Tavistock (Ref. 918405): A fantastic property in a great location with an amazing view. It was beautifully presented on arrival, with lovely touches. The family was great, the boys loved the animals and there was access to the moors from the property.
Primrose Cottage, Burrington near Kings Nympton and Chulmleigh (Ref. 23231): This cottage was by far the best I've ever stayed in. The location was perfect, everything about the cottage inside and out was excellent! The owners were very welcoming, helpful and extremely friendly people. We didn't want to come home and will be definitely going back next year!
Pheasant's Roost, Broadwoodkelly near Winkleigh (Ref. 1682): The accomodation was well appointed and so comfortable with all the mod cons and gadgets available - a real home from home. With a beautiful informal garden/lake/smallholding setting, an animal lovers paradise with horses, dogs, cats, chickens and ducks!The hosts couldn't do enough for us, right from the amazing welcome at the start of our stay through to the end. We would definitely recommend Pheasant's Roost to anyone. It was a fantastic stay & so peaceful too!
The Buttery, Hartland (Ref. 923258): The Buttery exceeded our expectations and everything was high quality. Big fluffy towels and lovely comfy bed so we had a great nights sleep. A lovely quiet location, ideal for visiting lots of different beautiful places with our small dog.
Coxes Cottage, Clyst St Mary near Topsham (Ref. 13292): Coxes Cottage is a beautiful cottage, it is well situated for getting around Devon. We found it to be very relaxing. There is a lovely garden to sit in and the owner is very welcoming and friendly. Coxes Cottage is very clean and well maintained, we will definitely be returning to this cottage and we would recommend it to anyone.
The Byre, Truckham Farm near Combe Martin (Ref. 10149): A lovely holiday in peaceful and beautiful Exmoor. Ideally situated with fabulous views, the coast inky a short drive away. Very comfortable cottage, friendly owners and a cream tea to welcome us on arrival. Loved everything about this cottage and love the area.
Fairway Lodge, Tedburn St Mary (Ref. 15175): We are not golfers - we were simply looking for accommodation. It is a quiet location although we could hear traffic from the nearby A road. We had a jacuzzi and the place was well equipped (although could have more crockery). It was perfect for us and a young child. Couldn't fault the layout and location. Staff were friendly, although saw very little of them as we didn't require anything. I would recommend for children as everything's on one level and little for them to get into. A great base to travel to Exeter or the coast as we did most mornings. Lovely to sit on balcony and just relaxing.
Dartmoor Edge Lodge, Tedburn St Mary (Ref. 13133): This was our first family holiday with 3 children. The reception was friendly very helpful and the cabin had a phone linked to the main reception so always contactable if needed. The cabin was so much bigger than we thought. Immaculate, stylish. Ensuit in main bedroom was brilliant when you have 3 kids and also had washer tumble. Again needed with family. Hot tub was a big hit rain or shine! Overall fab for a family. Fab if you love golf, but if you don't then it still works as we did not but still felt very welcome. Would highly recommend to couples to families to golfers to pretty much anyone and would definitely go back.
Virvale Barn, Combe Martin (Ref. 903601) : The owners were very friendly. The cottage was peaceful and the surrounding countryside was superb.
Higher Whiddon Farm Whiddon Well, Ashburton near Newton Abbot (Ref. 922472) : This cottage is a fantastic find, definitely feels like a home from home and was surprised at how spacious it is. The furniture and décor are lovely with a nice cosy feel and it is spotless throughout. The owners made us feel more like friends than guests. I would recommend this cottage to anyone who wanted to get away from it all and also to anyone who wanted to be centrally based for getting around Devon. Absolutely loved it and will definitely be going back again.
Penryn, Ilfracombe (Ref. 15567): This apartment was centrally located and very well equipped, with a friendly and helpful owner. It was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The games in the living room kept our son entertained for ages and there were lots of useful information leaflets regarding local activities.
Oak Cottage, North Molton (Ref. 916096): Absolutely stunning accommodation. Had lovely friendly owners with a very warm welcome, who went that extra mile with bird feed for the children to feed the birds and everything that we could have wished for. It was beautifully clean and well equipped.
The Hawthorns, North Molton (Ref. 916093): Our holiday cottage was beautiful and very well equipped. The owners couldn't be more welcoming and were always giving us ideas of places to visit. Would definitely recommend to friends!
Hoopers Cottage, Morchard Bishop (Ref. 923454): The cottage was faultless; very tastefully decorated, comfortable and well-equipped. In a quiet and peaceful location, well-placed for exploring the lovely Devon countryside.
White Steps, Brixham (Ref. 917465): We stayed for 4 nights for a family holiday - 4 adults and a toddler. As we tended to be in for the evenings the lovely open plan design downstairs was perfect for being all together. The kitchen was exceptionally well equipped and the decor was modern and contemporary. Great location for getting out and about. Bedrooms slightly short on hanging space but overall a lovely property and happy to recommend.
Jasmine Cottage, Hallsands near Kingsbridge (Ref. 915584): The location and overall condition of this property made it just about the best holiday cottage we have ever stayed in. We would recommend this cottage to anyone, and hope to return ourselves!
37 Ocean Park, Westward Ho! near Bideford (Ref. 912774): Second visit to this spotlessly clean, well equipped and well presented apartment, with just the most amazing views across Westward Ho! bay. Attention to detail is paramount and this apartment does not disappoint. Always a pleasure to return to Ocean Park.
Vineyard Cottage, Winkleigh (Ref. 25133): The cottage was convenient for Iddesleigh and Winkleigh is a very pretty location with two pubs and enough shops to provide daily needs. The cottage is newly finished with new thatch and fresh paint on the front, making it very attractive among the row of similar cottages. The wood burning stove in the lounge is amazing; it heats the cob cottage very quickly and we were very comfortable.
Drewstone Arches, South Molton (Ref. 921693): This was a great base for exploring the north of Devon, we had lovely walks every day. The local knowledge that was given to us of places to visit was very informative. The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed for a lovely stay!
Wisteria Cottage, Hallsands near Kingsbridge (Ref. 905075): A very comfortable cottage in a fantastic location. Great coastline, great local pubs and the whole area (including shops, pubs and restaurants) was very dog friendly.
The Shippen, North Tawton near Okehampton (Ref. 913047): We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay, beautiful location and setting with very pleasant owner. The Shippen was ideal for us as my mother is very immobile, so being on one level was perfect. Lovely spacious accomodation, with super views from the lounge, in particular. Very comfortable lounge and super kitchen and facilities. Plenty of bathroom facilities and good bedroom sleeping arrangements - would be great for a family holiday. Good base location for exploring and lots of lovely opportunity to walk. Very likely we will return!
The Plough, Berrynarbor near Combe Martin (Ref. 3856): Had a wonderful long weekend stay at the Plough. The accommodation was of a high standard, clean and well equiped. The village is lovely and friendly and I can recommend the food at the Globe. The flower pot men dotted around the village were too cute and I had to bring a couple home with me.
Woodland Hideaway, South Molton (Ref. 921691): The owners were so lovely and helpful, and the cottage was great, it was really clean and had everything we needed. The towels felt new, lovely and soft, and the place was so easy to relax in - just what we needed. It had really comfy beds as well. Had a excellent break, made even better by the super owners."
Rose Cottage, Hallsands near Kingsbridge (Ref. 915585): A beautiful location. A cosy cottage with a lovely feel to it, it was very nicely decorated, neutral & fresh.
Quarterdeck, Bigbury-on-Sea near Modbury (Ref. 920108): We had a lovely relaxing family break. The view from the house was stunning and we saw some beautiful sunsets. The short walk to a lovely beach was perfect for the children. The house was clean and had everything that we needed for our break. We felt very happy and comfortable.
Woodstone Barn, Whitchurch near Tavistock (Ref. 25045) : A very relaxed and chilling atmosphere from the house! Stunning scenery found just by opening the curtains! Lovely, welcoming owners! Lots to entertain my grandchildren without having to leave the property!
Folland House, North Tawton near Okehampton (Ref. 913048): The location and setting was lovely. Our boys particularly liked playing football on the neighbouring pitch. There were great walks with the dog from the cottage and it was a great location for seeing the sights in Devon. The cleanliness and the facilities in the cottage were great. A great size for a large family. The views were gorgeous.
The Coach House, Bratton Clovelly (Ref. 27860): A lovely cottage with a nice enclosed garden. It was in an excellent position to visit the North and South coast of Devon as well as Dartmoor.
Hazel Barn, North Molton (Ref. 918133) : A lovely location and mature gardens with plenty of space for our family party. The property was immaculate and care had gone into the décor of every room. The holiday catered for every generation from a 10 month old baby to an OAP! It was excellent value for money and most of all it was relaxing. We had a great time.
Woolleigh Barton Stables, Beaford near Great Torrington (Ref. 914960): Perfect holiday! The pool was great to unwind in after a busy day or we could sit and look at the amazing views. The cottage was beautiful, feeling a little depressed to be back at home.
Cowern Cottage, Bradworthy near Bude (Ref. 18021): Cowern Cottage is without exception the best equipped accommodation we have stayed in. A few times we thought that we'd found something that wasn't in the property, only to find another cupboard with exactly what we were looking for!! The gardens are also great and very secure for the little ones, allowing the adults to relax! We had a lovely week of sunshine and there is so much to keep a family occupied in the area, that we actually found it hard to justify spending too much time at the cottage, however, the early mornings and evenings flew by whilst playing the many indoor and outdoor games provided, relaxing and having BBQs in the garden, followed by a few competitive sessions on the Wii! Highlights were the The Big Sheep, hiring bikes on the Tarka Trail from Bideford, Bude beach and the Olive Tree restaurant in Bude, which was excellent on the two occasions we visited. We also went to The Milky Way and Gnome Reserve, both of which we're enjoyable. The two Dads also escaped to the local pub (The Bradworthy) on a couple of occasions and can vouch for the friendly locals and excellent ale!! We also ate there as a family group and were very impressed with the quality of the food and service. All in all a great holiday, made by the quality of the accommodation at Cowern Cottage, which I couldn't recommend enough to other families looking for a place to stay in the area.
Bedport Barn, Burrington near High Bickington (Ref. 914959): As soon as we walked in we felt at home. It was beautifully furnished, well equipped and the setting was so idyllic. My youngest son is severely Autistic and this was the perfect holiday for him as it was so peaceful and it was the most relaxed I've ever seen him! It is not a far drive from beaches and shops but far enough away to feel right in the middle of the country. A lot of friends and family have asked for information on Bedport Barn as they say the photographs were beautiful. The views from the hot tub just melted all your cares away. I would definitely recommend Bedport Barn to anyone and we have already decided about returning next year.
Seacombe Cottage, Combe Martin (Ref. 922579): Proximity to the beach and small town. Nice quiet property. Easy walking distance to nice shops to buy provisions which we did each day. Beautiful scenery with lovely walks. Nice village in a lovely area.
Threshing Barn, Beaford near Great Torrington (Ref. 914961): Set on a working farm, beautiful place to stay in. Plenty of space views are outstanding great to have swimming pool for little one. Loved watching the cows come past to feed. I will be staying here again. And as long as still being used as holiday home will use this every time I go to Devon. Thank you.
Starre House, Beer near Seaton (Ref. 31082): The house and garden were both wonderful. The house is old and fascinating but also very warm and comfortable. Modernisation is tasteful and all décor is beautiful. The location is also excellent, convenient for everything in Beer. Altogether an excellent holiday.
